Do I need to book? Yes, since re-opening post-lockdown, we've switched to a new online booking system, located under indoor play. This allows us to limit our capacity, and split our opening hours into sessions, in order to keep our play centres both fun and safe. If you're having difficulty booking, please click here to contact us.
Do you accept cash? As part of our move to a new online booking system, all 3 of our play centres are now cashless. We no longer keep change on site, and we don't accept cash, so please make sure to bring your card with you if you do wish to purchase anything from the cafe. The only time you'll need cash at one of our play centres is if you wish to use our coin-operated machines (such as the candyfloss machine at our Hemel Hempstead site, the ride-on ice cream van at our Berkhamsted site or the tractor at our St Albans site).
What happens if I can't attend a booking I've made? As per our terms and conditions, we are unable to offer refunds, and we ask for 24 hours notice in writing (to firstname.lastname@example.org) in order to reschedule a booking for you (subject to availability).
What measures have you taken to ensure you remain COVID-Secure? In order to ensure our play centres remain COVID-secure, we've taken a number of steps, including introducing play sessions, which we close and clean in between (using Steri-7 which protects for up to 72 hours after application due to its use of Reactive Barrier Technology), moving to become cashless, carrying out regular cleaning of touch points and placing screens in front of till points. We've also increased the frequency of our cleaning in between sessions, placed hand sanitising stations around the play centre, limited the use of props (such as in our role-play areas), we check CO2 levels a minimum of once a day to ensure there is sufficient ventilation, party food is served individually rather than in a buffet format, we now ask candles are blown out handheld balloon pumps (which we provide) in order to reduce the risk of contamination and our tables and chairs are well-spaced to allow for social distancing if you choose.
Why do you charge for adults? Everyone who enters our play centre takes a space out of our capacity. On top of this, the price paid for adults helps to cover the cost of cleaning our facilities (from keeping our tables and floors clean, to keeping our toilets spotless)!
Why do you charge for under-1s? Just as adults do, babies also take a space out of our capacity. In response to feedback we received, we've reduced the price of under-1s to £2 (when booking online). We provide a number of facilities and services which cater to under-1s, including providing high chairs, sofas (for somewhere comfy to sit when breastfeeding), microwaves to warm up milk, baby changing facilities and allowing prams to be brought in. On top of this we've introduced sensory areas at our Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted site, and sensory equipment at our St Albans site. Our under 2s areas are in high demand, particularly during the week, and charging for under-1s contributes to both the maintenance, and regular cleaning of these.
How do I book a party? Just as with play sessions, parties are now booked on our website, under the parties tab, if you have any questions or need help booking or amending a party, contact us.
What is a membership, and how do I purchase one? Memberships are purchased anually, for £175 for the first child, and £87.50 for each additional sibling (this includes one adult who can come in for free with each booking). In order to purchase a membership, please go to the membership page on our website. If you wish to add a sibling, please contact us. Memberships entitle you to as many visits as you like a year (subject to availability, and only after 1pm on weekends and during February and October half term). You can also only hold one forward booking on your account at a time. The rest of the terms and conditions can be found on the membership page.
Do you offer exclusive hires? We do offer exclusive hires, both in hours, and out of hours. Pricing, availability and booking is all available on the party page of our website. For more information, or help booking, please contact us.
What do I need to bring with me? All you need to bring with you is your card (as we are now cashless), socks to wear on the equipment and yourselves! In order to check in, we only need your surname, but we recommend you also bring your booking confirmation if you can.
Do you serve food and drinks? All 3 of our sites serve drinks and snacks all day, and our cafe is open for hot and cold food for the first hour of your play session. You can view our menu by clicking here!
Am I allowed to bring my own food and drink? Our play centres are allergy-controlled areas, so during our regular play sessions, we do not permit any outside food or drink (with the exception of baby food). Our cafe is able to cater to a huge range of allergies (please make the team on the day aware of any allergies when ordering), and if you have any questions please feel free to contact us. Birthday parties are allowed to bring a birthday cake, which is not consumed on the premises (wrapped up and taken home), and party bags. The only exception to this rule is when booking an exclusive hire, in this case outside food and drink is allowed to be brought into our play centres.
What's the best way to leave a review, or to pass on my feedback on how DJ's could be improved? Good reviews are always appreciated! As a small business every person's feedback matters, and we love to see posts on social media! The best place to leave a review is on Facebook, or on our Google maps pages.
If you have anything you think we could improve on, or there was anything we could've done to make your visit better, please get in touch with us at email@example.com.
Is there anything I need to know when parking?
All three of our sites have free parking available for DJ's Play customers. If visiting our Hemel Hempstead site, please be aware that if you're parking for more than 4 hours, you'll need to enter your license plate at the tablet provided on reception (for an additional 2 hours parking).
What should I wear? Please wear appropriate clothing, arms and legs should be covered to reduce risk of personal injury, and socks must be worn at all times. If you have any queries please contact us.
If there's anything you think we should add to our FAQs page, or you have a query which hasn't been answered here, please get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
